The Traveler's Clinic is an online medical clinic for those who love to be on the move. We provide a variety of services tailored to the specific health needs of travelers, expats, and also to all enthusiasts of digital health.

  • Step 1: Preparation

    Before the appointment, clear instruction will be sent to you by email. We kindly ask you to fill out our pre-consultation form. Also, make sure you have your travel itinerary, identification document, vaccination record, and current phone number and email with you.

  • Step 2: Online Consultation

    For the appointment, you will need a computer or mobile device with a microphone, front camera, and internet connection. Enjoy the consultation and ask any questions you may have.

  • Step 3: Action

    Prepare your trip with the medical recommendations received. If necessary, have the prescribed prescriptions filled at the pharmacy during the consultation, and/or schedule your vaccination at the nearest location according to the recommendations.

What does the telemedicine traveler's consultation consist of?

Our medical services are primarily aimed at travelers or expats, although anyone can schedule a medical consultation.
The telemedicine option allows you to access this advice from anywhere in the world, with the flexibility of scheduling, saving time on waiting and travel expenses.

In addition to traveler's medicine consultations for pre-travel advice, we also offer more specialized consultations tailored to other traveler's needs.

Can I receive guidance via email?

We do not provide guidance via email. The telemedicine traveler's consultation operates exclusively in real-time, with simultaneous video interaction between the doctor and the traveler, just like an in-person consultation.

Where does the consultation take place?

The traveler's consultation takes place through video conferencing with the doctor. This option allows you to have the consultation from the comfort of your home or workplace, in a convenient and cost-effective manner, without the need for travel or time constraints. We recommend choosing a quiet and peaceful location, ensuring the confidentiality of the information you share with the doctor, and having a stable internet connection.

How do I obtain the medical prescription?

After the consultation, the medical prescription will be immediately sent to you via email and/or message so that you can pick it up at the nearest pharmacy.
Please be aware the prescriptions are only available in Portugal.

What if I need vaccines?

If you need vaccines, the doctor will issue a medical prescription with which the traveler can acquire and administer vaccines at the pharmacy or health center (for vaccines available in community pharmacies) or at the international vaccination center for the administration of the yellow fever vaccine, if recommended. The doctor will assist you in identifying the nearest center. Since you already have the prescription and only need vaccination, the rest of the process will be expedited.

Please be aware the prescriptions are only available in Portugal.

What if you need an international certificate of vaccination?

After the consultation, the medical prescription will be immediately sent to you via email, along with information on the nearest suitable international vaccination center. The center will issue the International Certificate of Vaccination for required vaccines in border controls (e.g., yellow fever vaccine, polio vaccine, meningococcal meningitis vaccine) and record other vaccines in your Individual Health Record.

What are the the appointment scheduling hours?

Appointment bookings are available 24 hours a day. Consultations are conducted from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM (Lisbon timezone GMT/UTC: +00:00 hours), based on the availability displayed on the scheduling platform.
If you require a specific time, you can request the possibility of an additional appointment through our contacts (via email or WhatsApp).

What data is required for the consultation?

It is essential for the traveler or legal guardian to provide all information regarding: travel itinerary, including destinations, departure date, and expected duration of stay; health history, including vaccination record, regular medication, and weight; identification documents, including the National Health Service (SNS) user number. If you do not have your vaccination record, you can obtain a copy of your record on the national health portal or through the SNS24 app.

What equipment is necessary for the consultation?

Quem pode utilizar a consulta do viajante?

The services are intended for individuals, aged one year or older, fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, or English. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Please note that all the medical prescriptions are only valid in Portugal.

Quem são os médicos da consulta do viajante?

The Traveler's Consultation is conducted by doctors certified in Traveler's Health, based on the latest recommendations from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other health worldwide authorities. They are also professionals with extensive personal travel experience and diverse backgrounds, which will be an added value.

What confidentiality and security policy covers my data during travel?

The safeguarding of the confidentiality and security of traveler data is a legal and ethical obligation. Any information collected by the portal, such as email address, will never be shared, transferred, or sold to third parties, except when required by law.

Do you have agreements with insurance or health subsystems?

At the moment, we do not have any agreements. However, we do have discounts available for our partners.
